The Facebook marketplace was introduced by Facebook in 2016 and quickly became a trendy platform for selling products to local buyers. Facebook Marketplace is a secure and convenient platform for using when selling locally.

Before Facebook Marketplace, people used Facebook groups to buy, sell, trade and exchange.

For example, you can create a garage sale type group for your community so that people in your area can post products that they have put up for sale and search for products from others.

Although it was a bit clunky, but the Facebook Marketplace now offers a much more simplified approach.

Facebook Marketplace Answers to 5 Important Questions!

Here’s everything you need to know about the Facebook Marketplace, including where to find it.

Where can you find the Facebook Marketplace?

Just click on the Marketplace icon at the bottom of the Facebook app. This is an icon that looks like a small shop.

How can you view products for sale on the Facebook Marketplace?

The Marketplace opens with photos of products that people near you have put up for sale. Then, to find a specific thing, you can enter a keyword in the search bar by clicking on the search icon at the top of the screen.

You can also filter the results by location, category, or price. There is also a category section where you can find items in the Clothing and Accessories, Electronics, Family, etc. section. There is also a location tool to customize your region.

How can you buy products on the Facebook Marketplace?

When you find anything you want to buy, be sure to click on the image to view more detailed information from the seller, such as the product description, the seller’s name, and profile photo, as well as their general location. You can also save items to find them later.

Once you decide that you need it – or are interested in it – you can either send the seller a message from the Marketplace to make an offer or select the “Make an offer” option in the list. Facebook does not facilitate payment or delivery of goods. The idea is that you and the seller can work out the details.

How do you sell products on the Facebook Marketplace?

To place an item for sale in the Marketplace, take a photo of your product (or add it from the film), enter the product name, description, and price, confirm your location and select a category.

Then you can publish it so that anyone looking in your area can find your product and let you know if they want to buy it. Remember that Facebook does not facilitate payment or delivery of goods.

How can you track activities?

To track all your current and past transactions, visit the Marketplace profile section by clicking on the icon in the screen’s upper-right corner next to the search icon. From here, you can view your recent activity, all saved products, products that you have placed for sale, and all your messages with people.
