Are you wondering why your ATT.NET Email is not Working with Outlook?

Many users use att.net Email, but sometimes this email provider may not work correctly with Outlook. This may be a problem, but in today’s article, we will show you how to solve this problem in Windows 10.

At Att.net, there are several users, but some of them have reported various problems with mail att.net and Outlook. Speaking of issues, here are some common issues reported by users:

• ATT.NET Email does not work with Outlook 2010. This issue can affect almost any version of Outlook, and Outlook 2010 is no exception. However, you should be able to solve the problem using one of our solutions.

• AT&T Email not sent. Sometimes your emails att.net can’t be sent at all. However, you can solve this problem by reconfiguring your Account to att.net.

1. Check your antivirus

Solution 1. Check your antivirus

Before we start fixing this problem, it’s always a good idea to check your antivirus and make sure it doesn’t interfere with your applications. Third-party antivirus tools can cause problems, and to fix them, you need to disable specificspecific antivirus settings.

If this doesn’t work, the next step is to disable the antivirus completely. In the worst case, the only option may be to remove the antivirus. If removing the antivirus fixes the problem, you should seriously consider switching to another antivirus.

There are many great antivirus tools on the market, but if you want an antivirus to not interfere with your email client or other applications, providing maximum protection, you should think about Bitdefender.

Solution 2: Make sure your ATT.NET Email Account is set up correctly

Sometimes Email att.net does not work with Outlook because the email account is not configured properly. This is a common problem with almost any email provider, but you can fix it if you correctly set up your email account.

To add an email account att.net In Outlook, you need to do the following:

1. Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.

2. Now select Manual Configuration or additional server types.

3. Select Pop or IMAP and enter the desired display name and your email address.

4. Set the account type. You can use IMAP or POP3.

5. Depending on the selected account type, you configure your incoming and outgoing server. 

If you are using an IMAP server, use the following parameters: Incoming Mail Server: imap.mail.att.net 

Outgoing Mail server: smtp.mail.att.net 

As for the POP3 server, use the following data: Incoming Mail Server: Incoming .att.net

Outgoing Mail server: outbound.att.net.

6. Enter your full email address and insert your secure mail key. 

Be sure to check the Remember password and Require login using the secure password authentication box.

After setting up the server, you need to configure the ports and a few more parameters:

1. Click Advanced Settings and check the box. My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Now select Use the same settings as on my incoming mail server.

2. Now, you just need to configure the ports. For the incoming server, Use 993 (for IMAP) or 995 (for POP3).

For the outgoing server, enter 465 (works for IMAP and POP3). In the Use the following type of encrypted connection section, select SSL for Outgoing and Incoming server.

3. After that, click OK, and then Next. Outlook will now check your connection. If everything is in order, click Done.

As you may have noticed, we mention that AT&T email requires a secure email key to create a new email account. 

This is a security feature that should provide additional security to your email client.

If you do not have a generated secure mail key, you will stop the account creation process and generate a secure mail key. 

This process is quite simple, and you can do it in a minute or two. To create a secure key, do the following:

1. Go to your AT&T profile and select Login Info.

2. Select your email account, go to the Secure Mail Key section, and select Secure Mail Key Management.

3. Select an email address and click Add Secure Mail key. You can set an alias for this secure mail key to recognizing it in the future.

4. Select Create Secure Mail Key and click Copy Secure Mail Key to Clipboard. Click OK.

5. Go to your mail client and use the password of the protected mail instead of the password.

This procedure may seem a bit complicated at first, but if you follow the instructions carefully, you will be able to add and configure your AT&T Email—att.net without much hassle. Just make sure you have created a secure email key and have it available when needed.

Solution 3: Use IMAP instead of a POP account

As you may know, there are two types of email accounts, IMAP and POP, and IMAP is newer between them. As a new standard, it also offers certain features, such as the ability to sync your Email across all devices.

With the introduction of IMAP, the POP standard has become obsolete, and many email service providers are moving away from it, including AT&T. If you have any problems with email att.net and Outlook, this may be due to the fact that you are using a POP account.

You need to change your Outlook account settings and configure your Email to use an IMAP server to fix this. To see the addresses and ports associated with the IMAP server, check Solution 2.

After switching to the IMAP account type, the problem should be solved.

Solution 4 – Delete your ATT.NET Email profile

If your Email att.net doesn’t work with Outlook, you can solve this problem by simply deleting your email account and recreating it. Deleting your profile will delete files stored locally on your PC, but all your mail messages that are on the server will be saved.

To delete your AT&T Email profile, you need to do the following:

1. Go to File > Account Settings > Profile Management.

2. Now click Show Profiles. Select your Account and click Delete.

After that, add your email address att.net following the instructions from Solution 2. 

Once your Account is added again, check if the problem still exists.

Solution 5. Start Outlook in safe mode.

If the Email att.net does not work with Outlook, it may be related to Outlook settings or add-ons. Sometimes these add-ons can interfere with Outlook and cause problems. 

To check if your settings or add-ons are a problem, we recommend that you run Outlook in safe mode. It’s pretty easy to do, and you can do it by following these steps:

1. Press Windows Key + R and type Outlook/safe. Press Enter or click OK.

2. When a new window appears, click OK to continue.

Outlook will start, and you should check if the problem still appears. You can also start Outlook in safe mode by following these steps:

1. Find the Outlook shortcut.

2. Press and hold the Ctrl key and launch Outlook. After that, Outlook will start in safe mode.

If the problem does not appear in safe mode, it means that one of your settings or add-ons was the cause of the problem, so you need to find it and disable it.

Solution 6. Switch to Google DNS.

In some cases, there is a problem with mail att.net may be caused by your DNS. However, users reported that they were able to solve the problem by simply switching to DNS from Google. It’s pretty easy to do, and you can do it by following these steps:

1. Click the network icon on your taskbar. Select your network.

2. Select Change Adapter Settings.

3. A list of all network connections on your PC will appear—Right-click your network and select Properties.

4. Select Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) from the list and click Properties.

5. Select Use the following DNS server addresses. Enter 8.8.8.8 as Preferred and 8.8.4.4 as an Alternative DNS Server. Click OK to save the changes.

After saving the changes, check if the email issue has been fixed att.net and Outlook.

Solution 7. Use webmail or another email client

If you are still having problems with email att.net and Outlook, you can try using the webmail version as a temporary solution. The webmail version does not require any configuration, and although it may not be as convenient as Outlook, it should allow you to check Email without problems.

If you prefer to email clients, you can always use the built-in mail application or Thunderbird. However, if you want to replace Outlook, try the eM Client.
